Steady Decline in major Crime Baffles Experts

The number of violent crimes in the US has dropped majorly, to what seems to be the lowest in the last 40 years. This seems to be strange, to researchers given the recession it seems like crime would be more likely. The odds of being murdered or robbed are more than half of what they were in the early 1990s. However the news isn’t as bright in New York where they are experiencing a increase in four major crimes: murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.

Sony Financial Loss

1. What is news in technology? Sony is expected to loose an annual $3.2bn. This is mainly due to the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan and because of the series of computer hacking attacks. The cyber attacks resulted in the theft of names and personal information of more than 100 million accounts. They are expecting to have everything fixed by the end of May but they lost a lot of profit due to the attacks. Also the earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan affected the firms supply chain. In short things are not looking good for Sony right now.

Dancing with the stars

Who are the finalists for Dancing with the stars, and who do you think will win?

Maksim and Kirstie, Chelsea and Mark, and Hines and Kym are the finalists and will compete for the trophy on Tuesday. I don’t really watch dancing with the stars so I really have no strong feelings one way or the other when it comes down to who wins. I haven’t watched them dance so I really don’t know good they are and because I haven’t actually watched them dance I don’t have an opinion.

Favorite Music group

There are too many music groups to choose from!!!! I guess if I absolutely had to pick a favorite music group though I would have to pick Shinedown! <3

I can’t really find any current information on them except for the fact that they are going on tour soon. It will consist of a limited number of shows in US and Canada and they will be performing songs from their 2008 album “The Sound of Madness.”

Apparently the world is supposed to end May 25, 2011. Details:

1. It all comes down to two numerical proofs.

2.The first proof is based on Genesis 7:4, when God said to Noah: “Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.”

3. When God referred to seven days, he meant both seven days and seven thousand years, because “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” The flood occurred in 4990 BC. Seven thousand years later is 2011.

4. The second proof looks at the significance of the number of days between the Crucifixion and May 21, 2011.

5. There are 722,500 days between these dates. 722,500 is a significant number because it is composed of the significant numbers 5x10x17x5x10x17. Five signifies redemption; ten signifies completion; and 17 signifies heaven.

Look I’m a Christian and everything but I’m just not convinced it’s going to happen. We have been trying to predict this thing forever now. Only the Lord knows when it’s going to happen not us.

1. What teams are left in the NBA finals? Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Lakers,Dallas Mavericks.

2. What is today’s date and why is that significant? Today is Friday the 13th and basically it’s a day for bad luck. I don’t really believe in superstitions but that is what today is for.

3. When is the latest prediction for the end of the world? Last time I heard the last prediction is December 21, 2012. But apparently there is a new one for October 21, 2011. I really REALLY don’t believe in these end of the world predictions but that’s just me. We’ve been trying to predict this since the beginning so forgive me for not believing it.

Basically the Mississippi River flooded causing Memphis, Arkansas, and Tennessee to become flooded. The water is about 47.87 feet deep! It is It’s like 741 miles or more away from where I live in South Carolina.

The day long music festival, The Carolina Rebellion caused major traffic delays around the Metrolina Expo on Saturday. It was a concert with nearly 20 rock bands that ended just before midnight. The police suspected that traffic would become especially congested when the concert ended. Some of the bands included in the concert were: Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Three Days Grace, and Stone Sour! And pretty much several bands that I like! I wanted to go so bad!!!!

What is making headlines in technology on BBC new’s website? An online music service called Spotify is aiming to take over iTunes. It’s extending many of it’s premium services o non paying customers as well as apps. It is also encouraging people to download their music straight to Spotify rather than to iTunes. Many people are wondering how successful this company will be giving iTunes dominance. So far Spotify has 10m members.
